Coordinates branch volunteer needs with Volunteer Services. Assesses public and staff computer/technology training needs and opportunities; plans and publicizes training sessions to address these needs, and effectively delivers training programs. Develops and updates computer training curricula. Develops tools to assist patrons, volunteers and staff in the use of library computer resources. Coordinates meeting room scheduling, preparations for events and art exhibit planning. Provides leadership to and collaborates with other training lab coordinators in the design and management of system-wide projects. Provides culturally appropriate reference service to all users. Responds to inquiries made in person, by telephone, or electronically. Provides training to customers in basic library skills and use of electronic resources. One of five PICs (Person-In-Charge), who take a leadership role for the branch in case of emergencies and policy decisions when branch supervisor is absent from the building. Develops programs to attract an influx of new library customers and volunteers, especially teens and other members reflective of the nearby African-American and African immigrant community. Serves as liaison between the Library and community by attending community meetings and events, providing information to community groups about library services, establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with local organizations. Serves on various library committees. Participates in system-wide, interdisciplinary projects.
